On my mind….
| Most of the world’s attention is focused on Haiti right now. Here in China, the images I see on tv bring me right back to those horrible days I spent in Sichuan in May, 2008. Our hearts and our resources must go to help the Haitian people, however we can. So I ask you please NOT to make a contribution to Half the Sky this month. Send your dollars to Haiti. But, rather than money, give us a moment of your time.
Yesterday, I went to a government meeting in Beijing that presented Half the Sky with an opportunity to help China’s children in a way we couldn’t have even imagined a few years ago. There’s more to learn in the coming days and I will share with you as soon as I can. But I have to tell you that we REALLY need your help in the Facebook Chase Community Giving contest. Right now. Given the current standings, I guess the idea of a $1 million win is pretty remote, but if we could all come together and ask everyone we know to PLEASE vote for Half the Sky TODAY, we’d sure have a shot at $100,000. That would absolutely jump-start the exciting new chance we have to help more children. I just can’t wait to tell you more. |

If there are other organizations you’d rather support, that’s okay. You have 5 votes! It’s hard for us to vote from China. That really puts us at a disadvantage. Won’t you do your best to help from wherever in the world you are? Please pass this message along to everyone you know. With your help, we can still do this for the children! Thank you, Jenny Bowen Executive Director Half the Sky |

A vote for Half the Sky is a vote for every forgotten child.
To vote for HTS, please follow these simple steps*. THANK YOU! *If you don’t like Chase having access to your Facebook information, would you consider “Becoming a Fan” for just a few seconds so you can vote? After you cast your vote(s), you can easily remove yourself from Chase’s Fans by clicking on “Remove me from Fans” at the bottom of the left hand side of http://www.facebook.com/ChaseCommunityGiving. When there are lots of voters the page freezes up. Can you try again? |
